| Sheila T. Harty's experience
and education have taken her around the world, giving her a first-hand view of the
political arena and a rich perspective on life. In her theological studies, she
majored in Catholicism, minored in Islam, and wrote her thesis in Scriptural
Judaism. Her two decades as a writer and
editor in Washington, DC, began with winning the "George Orwell Award for Honesty
and Clarity in Public Language" for her first book, Hucksters in the Classroom.
Her political experience includes ten years with Ralph
Nader at his Center for Study of Responsive Law as well as work with former U.S. Attorney
General Ramsey Clark and former U.S. Surgeon General C. Everett Koop.
Her academic experience includes a sabbatical year as
lecturer in "Business Ethics" at University College Cork,
Ireland.
As a freelance editor, her contracts are numerous and
include significant national and international policy organizations (see "Biography
Section" for a listing) as well as working with first-time authors to get their
manuscripts into publishable shape. |
